Book Review of The Ethics of Touch

AMTA - Minnesota Chapter

by Pamela Meyers

While struggling to find words for teaching an ethics project in a personal and professional development class, and looking for more in-depth information, I discovered The Ethics of Touch. This book is an easy read, covering boundaries, principles, communication, dual relationships, sex, touch and intimacy and practice management. As an experienced professional, boundaries and clear communication are two subjects I constantly work to refine. With the book to refer to for preparation, I recently (and gracefully) skated through the difficult subject of "Erections and Inappropriate Behavior" for class. Every touch practitioner should have this book on a shelf for reference.
